About
USIP has been working at the intersection of religion, violence, and peace for over twenty years. We have helped the wider field of conflict management recognize the scope of religious dynamics in violent conflict and develop more effective strategies for engaging religious actors and factors in efforts to transform drivers of violence and build sustainable peace.
In addition, USIP’s Religion and Peacebuilding Center, created in 2000, works with religious actors, organizations, and institutions in active zones of conflict around the world, across myriad faith traditions, to advance interfaith respect and cooperation and to leverage the position and influence of the religious sector for peacebuilding.
